Cardiff University are seeking a partner who will work with the University’s Admissions Team to meet its ambitious international recruitment strategy, to ensure fairness and consistency in our admissions practice and work within the University’s agreed admissions process and policies (including UK student immigration requirements).
Cardiff University is seeking to procure a highly customer focused, Security Support service to include the following service elements:
-An extended hours Library support service,
-An out of hours support service for the ABACWS building,
-Ad-hoc general security, event security & stewarding support.
The Astronomy Instrumentation Group (AIG) in the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University has been funded to provide two Small Aperture Telescope (SAT) receivers and one Large Aperture Telescope receiver (LATR) to the SO:UK programme, including the development of detector technology and associated horn blocks and housings. Two CNC mills are to be purchased for the in-house R&D and manufacture of components for the SAT and LATR receivers:
- 3-axis CNC for the manufacture of other SO:UK associated parts, and to relieve the workload through the AIG’s existing machines.
- 5-axis CNC mill for the manufacture of the complex horn blocks and detector housings.
Parts made using these new CNC mills will typically be from aluminium, copper, plastics, and steels; and will be of varying sizes and complexity. They will need to be machined to tight mechanical tolerances and will need to be of high-quality surface finishes.
Cardiff University is looking to establish a single supplier framework for Marquee and associated equipment hire. The University requires various Marquee options for various types of events throughout the term of the framework.
The Provision of Sanitary bins, nappy bins and entrance mats for Cardiff University to include:
Supply and installation
Servicing
Safe disposal of contents
Equipment maintenance / replacement
The University would also like to explore the supply, servicing, and maintenance ‘Period Dignity’ dispensers in washrooms across our campus, to potentially add this to the contract at a later date, via a contract variation. Pricing will be sought from all bidders for information only.

Cardiff University is looking to establish multiple Contractors Frameworks covering Projects and Minor Works. These will be multi Lot, multiple supplier frameworks for both ‘Estates Contractors’ and ‘Estates Minor Works’.

In addition, the maintenance services required may fall within a “specialist area”, where the University retains the right to award works outside of the Contractors Framework.

The University are hosting an in-person only, supplier and sector engagement day on Monday 16 October 2023, (09:30 – 11:00).
The objectives for the day are;
a. Allow the University to provide clarity on the requirements of each Framework and Lots within it as well as how it aligns to the Estates future strategy.
b. Gauge and generate interest around the contract opportunities and assess the suppliers ability to support the indicative timelines
c. Obtain feedback and answer any questions on the requirement as currently defined.

The purpose of this procurement is to appoint Contract cleaning companies to support Residences Teams with the cleaning of student accommodation.

This tender opportunity is seeking to make an appointment for a manufacturer to fabricate and supply the identified fire door sets detailed within the appended schedules and design packs to align with the site works and permit the contractors to install the items.
The works form part of an ongoing refurbishment programme that seek to make improvements to fire safety measures to the university’s student accommodation assets
The university requirements and scope for fire door sets replacement works is based upon the Cardiff University’s “Silver fire door replacement scheme”. The university’s silver scheme is based upon a risk assessment approach for fire safety and forms part of the university’s overarching fire safety strategy improvement works.
The silver scheme approach seeks to replace flat entrance door sets, kitchen door sets and central circulation door sets, and plant door sets with new certified door sets.
The door sets are to be replaced and installed with certified door sets including the manufacture and installation to BM Trada Q mark (as noted above this is a supply only contract with the installation being procured under a different contract)
It is anticipated that all site works are to be undertaken during the summer period from mid-June through to late-August of 2024 while the identified assets are vacant over the summer period.

Cardiff University is seeking to procure an IT Asset Management (ITAM) toolset to enable effective IT asset monitoring and management. This will ensure that we are making best use of our assets throughout their lifecycle. The information that the toolset will return will also be used as an information source for securing assets. It is anticipated that there will be a financial and environmental sustainability benefit through re-use and re-deployment of IT assets, achieved via an ITAM toolset that enables lifecycle management of hardware and software assets. The bidder shall provide a toolset that is delivered as Software as a Service (SaaS).
Cardiff University's Cyber Innovation Hub requires specialist delivery support in respect of sales, particularly in respect of building upon established leads and closing deals.
This will include:
- Building upon the existing commercial model to ensure that identified revenue streams are fully exploited within agreed timescales
