VisitEngland support for the Land, Leisure & Tourism Show 2025, which gives us a VisitEngland networking area to enable connections between VE, LVEPs, trade bodies & key stakeholders. Due to the nature of the event, we are unable to procure the networking area or stand from any other supplier, meaning that a Direct Award is the only possible approach. The contract value for 2025 is £10,500, however, this will be the third year of attendance so we are transparently publishing this award in light of the cumulative spend across that period.

The GCC is a crucial market for VisitBritain and our trade license to operate in the UAE requires us to have office space, however the lease on the current office space is expiring and we need to relocate. Due to statutory requirements of Labour Law in the UAE, it is imperative to provide a fully equipped working space for the team to facilitate the issuance of work visas, as all personnel are expatriates. This provision is crucial to ensure compliance with legal mandates and to support the operational efficacy of the team. We have been unable to discover any current Government framework agreements that would facilitate the rental of office space outside of the UK so the Dubai team has thoroughly researched and analysed options to ensure optimal value and to find the best solution, encompassing key requirements. We will review options ahead of the end of this current 12 month rental period.

The British Consulate in Amsterdam has permanently moved to the Hague, meaning that VisitBritain are required to rent an office independently, in the Amsterdam area, to enable locally based employees to work from the office. We are extending the rental of the current office space for an additional 12-month period, which is valued at c. £14,000 (subject to currency fluctuation) however, the cumulative value of the contract, which began in 2021, exceeds the threshold where we normally be required to undertake a tender exercise, although would be below the higher tender threshold covered by the Procurement Act. A local review suggests that although there are other office spaces available in the area, there are limited opportunities to generate savings and would also add relocation costs. Additionally, we have been unable to discover any current Government framework agreements that would facilitate the rental of office space outside of the UK. We will review options ahead of the end of this current 12 month rental period.

Provision of Health Insurance for the VisitBritain team in Dubai. This is required to ensure compliance with Dubai Health Insurance Law No. 11 of 2013 and provide essential healthcare coverage that supports staff wellbeing, morale, and operational continuity while avoiding legal and visa-related risks. A direct award was agreed via DCMS approval for 2025/2026 to ensure timely medical insurance coverage for staff members as this presents significant operational and compliance risks as per Dubai Health Insurance Law No. 11 of 2013. No further direct awards will be made for this requirement, which will be awarded either via a Pubic Sector Framework Agreement or open competition for 2026/2027.
