This tender is to deliver an exciting new business support programme in our Regional site in St Pancras and across the capital in our BIPC Local borough libraries (currently 5 but will increase up to 10 BIPC locals over the tenure of the programme). The overall goal of this research is to enable the British Library to become more inclusive and welcoming to a more racially and ethnically diverse and representative audience in order that we can attract and support a diverse community more effectively. In achieve this goal, we require: •A deeper understanding of cultural nuances (i.e. perceptions, awareness and attitudes) of those from ethnically diverse communities, and •Clear, actionable recommendations for the changes (i.e. practical steps) we can make as an organisation for the short, medium and long term that can feed into the British Library's strategy and 2024 business planning. The UK Legal Deposit Libraries (LDLs) are interested in gathering information regarding market interest to provide a geospatial data application and related services (GDAS). The LDLs maintain an archive of born-digital, geospatial data for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, largely in geospatial formats compatible with Geographical Information Systems (GIS). They make this archive available through a geospatial data viewer in their reading rooms. We are looking for market interest in providing this GDAS viewer and making it available in reading rooms; hosting and maintaining the current archive; ingesting new deposits and further GDAS viewer development. The British Library views this RFI process as one potential route to inform the future procurement of the goods and/or services described. The information gathered under this RFI may be used to evaluate potential suppliers and service offers and produce a shortlist for invitation to tender. At this stage, no final decision has been taken on the precise procurement route to be followed. The British Library is finding it difficult to recruit Solution Architects and so a decision has been made to provide opportunity for two internal members of staff to be seconded to the Architecture team for 2 years and follow a training, coaching and mentoring program. At the end of the 2 years they may stay in the Architecture team or go back to their original role with an additional set of skills. The purpose of this procurement is to engage with a consultant or consultancy to help set up this training program, be part of the selection process and then help to deliver the initial part of the training program with the Head of Architecture. Alongside this, it is envisaged that the successful person/organisation will help develop the architecture for a key project using this as a learning exercise for the successful trainees.
