The British Library's (BL) Publishing department produces original non-fiction and classic reprinted fiction for audiences around the world. In recent years, BL Publishing has become a significant source of commercial revenue for the Library as well as increasing access and understanding of its wide-ranging collections. It has refocused away from specialist scholarly markets and built a successful reputation as a small independent trade publisher.
This tender is for the provision of a modern storage and distribution service for the BL's publications, with an electronic ordering, invoicing and account management facility, and the supply to the BL of financial information relating to these transactions in a fully downloadable format.

The purpose of this procurement is to establish a non-exclusive ad-hoc 'call-off' arrangement with a single organisation who will provide development, testing, application support, architecture and business analysis services.
NOTE: This notice was updated on 30 April 2024 for the following reason: The Estimated Value of Requirement has been cahnged form 10K-25K to 25K - 50K(The British Library is contracted as part of its funding agreement with Arts Council England, to commission an end of project evaluation to assess the effectiveness and impact of the Get Ready for Business Growth project, in relation to the monies received and the national economy.
The evaluation will help bring evidence of economic and social impact, and highlight success and best practice to support future funding proposals and activity planning for second phase of the programme.
The evidence and findings from this evaluation will help the British Library to demonstrate its achievements on the project, enable Arts Council England to identify and share best practice, and build an evidence base for the case for a second phase of the project.)
