The British Library has used Atlassian Confluence since 2010 to provide its user audience with access to a corporate Wiki. We host Confluence on-prem and our current deployment is v7.16.5. In the last 12 months, 268 users have logged in to the Wiki to contribute or edit content and many more will have accessed information as readers. During the same period, edits have been made to approximately 90 team sites/spaces. The SQL database contains 22GB of data. The Wiki is a popular and important tool which allows users to create maintain and publish multimedia documentation, share information across teams and departments, and work collaboratively on projects. We host a live and a test installation of Confluence using Windows Server 2012 application servers and SQL Server 2019 instances. Atlassian are withdrawing support for on-prem installations of Confluence Server in February 2024 and the Library is keen to evaluate alternative products and solutions, which will enable us to maintain access to a Wiki for our user audience, beyond this date.
