The Council are looking to procure a Contractor to supply plumbing materials for disabled facilities. The Contract is for supply only; installation will be undertaken by the Council’s in-house corporate building team. The Council’s Corporate Building Team work on both Adult and Children’s DFG work, which is predominantly bathroom adaptations/external doors/ramps and external rails, both in private and social housing

These schemes provided by CBT/ILS enable the client to remain within their property and improve their quality of life.

It is proposed that a single storey extension is to be constructed for a wheelchair user to the side of the property. The extension will provide two bedrooms with an ensuite facility. Level access will be provided.

The project involves the installation of a new culvert and railing alongside the highway with mass concrete backfill to reinstate support to the road and manage the watercourse in close proximity to the carriageway.

The services are to support the day to day work activities of the Council’s Direct Labour Organisation. The Council is looking to award a Contract for the provision of Re-surfacing Works at Avondale Primary School. The works will include re-surfacing of the existing school playgrounds, perimeter paths and car parking areas. Generally, the existing macadam surface is to be planed and the wearing course only re-surfaced with some isolated full break out and replacement areas. Soft play to be installed to isolated areas and some minor repairs to steps, and redecoration of handrails and nosings

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council intends to appoint a forward-thinking provider who will build upon established strong local partnerships to ensure the delivery of its Healthy Child Programme (HCP) 0-19 years. Transitional support will be available for young people, up to 25 years, with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and Children in Our Care (CIOC.) The services will work to give children and their families the best start in life within a community hub model and be able to support early identification and help for parents who have additional vulnerabilities using the Vulnerable Parents Pathway. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative offer alongside other services for children, young people and families. The HCP delivery is divided into three Lots: Lot 1: Integrated 0-19 Public Health Nursing Service - Including leading on the Coordination of the local Healthy Child Programme, including the Baby Clinics, National Child Measurement Programme and School Nursing provision. Delivering the CIOC Health Assessments and School Health Needs Analysis. Lot 2: Specialist Infant Feeding Service - including maintaining the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative Gold standard in Blackburn with Darwen, delivering support for feeding mothers and developing initiatives to increase the continuation rates of breastfeeding in the borough. Lot 3: Community and Voluntary Support Service - including supporting families to care for their babies and children to improve physical, emotional, wellbeing and cognitive development in preparedness for school. Interested providers can bid for all three lots, however, a maximum of two will be awarded to any one provider. Providers do not need to be part of a consortium to submit a tender. The services will work in an integrated way within a collaborative Start Well Team, alongside Early Years, Early Help Services and a Family Hub model. They will provide universal and targeted support to promote the health, welfare, development and wellbeing of young people and their families. Blackburn with Darwen is looking for a provider to carry out dental epidemiology surveys. The provider will carry out dental epidemiological surveys for Blackburn with Darwen local authority. This will require the provider to complete clinical examinations and/or questionnaires on an agreed population, in settings located within the local authority boundary. The provider will be required to liaise with the relevant settings and work with them to encourage participation in the surveys and in obtaining consent from individuals, parents and carers according to the national protocol. This may involve the provider visiting the settings and communicating with governors, parents, teachers and managers and this is inclusive within the value of the contract. Suitable clinical examiner(s) will be identified by the provider, along with sufficient support staff for administration, recording and data entry. Staff carrying out clinical examinations must be operating within their scope of practice as determined by the General Dental Council The fieldwork team will undergo local regional training and be familiar with, and comply with, the standards and procedures laid down in the relevant national protocol, including the use of specified equipment.
