Basildon Borough Council is seeking to let a contract for Arboriculture Services. The services comprises of various tree works throughout the Borough to trees located within parks, highways, open spaces, community related assets and housing properties. There is no guarantee of volumes of work to the Contractor.
The council's leisure services (Basildon Sporting Village, Eversley Leisure Centre and Wickford Swim and Fitness Centre) are operated and delivered by Sports and Leisure Management Ltd (SLM), trading as Everyone Active (EA), under two separate contracts, one for Basildon Sporting Village and another for "Other Leisure" that includes Eversley Leisure Centre and Wickford Swim and Fitness Centre.
The proposed modification is the adoption of an Agency Model for the delivery of the council's leisure services within the borough.
The contracting authority is Basildon Borough Council and any Successor Body meaning one or more entities which assumes any of the Council’s functions (as applicable) as a result of Local Government Reform (LGR).Such successor body or bodies may be, without limitation, a local authority, a combined county authority, a strategic authority or any other status determined pursuant to the Devolution and LGR Legislation.”
Basildon Borough Council has provided for many years for the benefit of its tenants a successful Home Contents Insurance Scheme. This is a service that aims to provide them with a quality product that is competitively priced against what is available in the market both in terms of premium levels and the level of cover, including exclusions and excesses. It is important the scheme reflects the intended market and overall requirement to assist the Council in reducing financial exclusion. Currently there are approximately 1,363 existing policyholders from a total housing stock of approximately 10,672.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced organisations who wish to be considered for the work which is provided in the specification. The services comprises of various tree works throughout the Borough to trees located within parks, highways, open spaces, community related assets and housing properties. There is no guarantee of volumes of work to the Contractor.
Basildon Council requires a suitably experienced and qualified Contractor to provide supplementary enforcement services to tackle environmental issues such as littering, fly-tipping and dog fouling but with a scope to potentially increase this to other offences in the future. To reduce litter, fly-tipping and dog fouling within the borough by demonstrating that irresponsible behaviour will be tackled by way of enforcement action, mainly by issuing Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN’s) to offenders.
The Council requires to engage a Contractor for the receipt, bulking, haulage treatment and onward sale of Contract Recyclables collected from households. Mixed Recycling waste to be collected from the Councils Barleylands Depot for onward transport to a Treatment facility.
