A Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO) certified to EU Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards is required to work in partnership with the Authority to achieve UK Marketing Authorisation (MA) and, thereafter, undertake the scaled up production and supply of the DST-F reagent, a diagnostic skin test to Detect Infected among Vaccinated Animals (DIVA). This will involve the technology transfer of the research grade fusion protein-based reagent from the current ISO-accredited provider.
APHA has a number of busy postmortem room that supports APHA’s surveillance and statutory activities. APHA’s postmortem rooms must have suitable equipment to handle a wide range of animal species and the capacity to perform multiple post-mortems at once.
APHA has an immediate requirement to purchase seven postmortem tables at three sites (Bury, Carmarthen and Weybridge) which have reached the end of their lives.
This Contract will however be in place for a total of five years and during this period any APHA site may purchase postmortem tables via this Contract for other sites, subject to business need and budgetary approval.
The intention of this Framework Agreement is to allow the Authority to access the services of farm labour resource and/or specialised equipment to assist in the removal of carcases following a disease outbreak. To note that this requirement could be for any species of animal following disease confirmation and culling, but as an example these Services could follow Whole House Gassing (WHG) of poultry.
The Framework Provider(s) shall provide a team of Staff as required and agreed by the Authority, to an Infected Premises (IP) to remove carcases and load them into a bulker for disposal. Other services may include, but are not limited to Preliminary Cleansing and Disinfection, but under the direction of an Authority representative, usually the Authority Case Officer.
