Water efficiency in England and Wales is at a critical juncture. We're using more water than nature can replace and as our population grows and climate change persists, there is growing pressure on our water supply.
The 23red WEC Collective, a consortium of organisations will design and deliver a nationwide behaviour-change campaign to help households and businesses build positive, year-round water-saving behaviours.
This appointment follows a competitive procurement process led by Ofwat, working with the water companies, the Environment Agency (EA) and Defra.

We are pleased to announce that a successful tenderer has been identified to lead the Water Efficiency Campaign (WEC) for England and Wales, a significant milestone in the sector's long-term strategy to transform public water use.

Subject to completion of the standstill period and final contract award, the contract will cover the design and delivery of a nationwide behaviour-change campaign to help households and businesses across England and Wales use water more efficiently.

To provide Development Experience works in the following areas:
• New mains infrastructure, diversions, and reinforcements up
to 320mm OD (Outer Diameter) pipe
• New or temporary services associated with the above new
mains infrastructure.
• New, replacement or temporary connections to existing mains
• Metering of existing supplies
• Internal Meters
• Disconnection of existing assets
• Reinstatement
• Surveying
The Services required consist of grounds maintenance activities at Affinity Water sites including, but not limited to:
• grass cutting including seasonal meadow cutting
• hedge cutting
• arboriculture (limited to minor reactive works)
• herbicide application
• shrub bed maintenance
• ditch clearance
• site clearance
• tidying works
• gutter and gulley clearance
• to prepare and submit an annual programme of works
• quarterly report and weekly reports
The service delivery incorporates planned preventative maintenance regimes to ensure the operation of mechanical and electrical assets supporting regional offices and other core building support services on other sites.
Services include but not limited to;
• A managed service for Electrical Safety
• A managed service for planned servicing, reactive works, and new installations to mechanical & electrical Services at Regional Offices
• The provision of a M&E Technician at Hatfield Head Office and mobile Technicians to cover absences and specialist support.
