Ards and North Down Borough Council seeks to appoint an Integrated Consultancy Team (ICT) to undertake consultancy services through RIBA Stages 0 – 7. The services required under this contract are for the design and management of the delivery of Pickie Fun Park Redevelopment. This project is one of five constituent projects included in the Bangor Waterfront Redevelopment programme, to help re-establish Bangor as a thriving City and prime visitor attraction in Northern Ireland. The Bangor Waterfront Redevelopment project is a tourism led regeneration scheme which has secured funding through the Belfast Region City Deal to turn Bangor into a ‘destination of choice’, as a place to live, work, visit, study and invest, through a series of interconnected developments and experiences along Bangor Waterfront. The redeveloped facility at Pickie Fun Park will contribute to the Contracting Authority's long-term vision to ‘Seamlessly connect the waterfront to the rest of the city and, in doing so, provide a unique, wide range of opportunities for residents, visitors and businesses, inspired by a wonderful environment, public spaces, creative events and activities with attractions that speak of local stories to a global audience’. The Bangor Waterfront Outline Business Case (OBC) concluded that while the park is already a popular attraction, it has the potential to expand its offer and build upon its existing success to ensure its ongoing viability and sustainability.
