Service across the East of England region (excluding Milton Keynes) to ensure that critically ill children have equitable access to timely, safe and clinically effective service provision wherever they present in a geographical area. The Service only provides transport between hospitals and does not respond to ‘primary’ 999 calls. The Service will be available at all times (24/7) for all units within the East of England geographical catchment area to provide: • Clinical advice to referring clinicians • Safe and effective transfers for critically ill children (including ventilated) • A bed location service for Paediatric Critical Care transfers The initial estimated total contract value is £22,260,000 (which covers a contract period of 5 years plus the option to extend for further 2 years). This may be subject to contract variation during the life of the contract potentially bringing the contract value to £32,760,000.
