D2001 Window 22 Mock-UP and Trials Premise Facilitation

Description

Dounreay has a series of zinc bromide windows, cell 10 in D2001 has 6. Dounreay carried out an optioneering study in 2023 that determined window 22 in cell 10 would be drained of zinc bromide and filled with grout. The objective of the contract is for the Contractor to provide Dounreay with a mock-up of Window 22 (3 off) and provide a trialling area at their premises. All grout filling trials will be undertaken by Dounreay. To meet this objective the Contractor must undertake the following activities. 1. Project Management 2. Submission of QA documentation 3. Procurement and Fabrication of Mock-Up 4. Preparation of Leak Test Procedures and Risk Assessments 5. Undertaking of Leak Test Programme 6. Preparation of Leak Test Report 7. Employ a third part to carryout diamond wire cutting of the grout blocks 2.1.5 Supply of Trialling Space The Contractor must supply Dounreay with a space for carrying out grout filling trials. The grout will be delivered by a grout pump, supplied by Dounreay, which shall require a water supply. The trialling space must have the following facilities: • Be a minimum of 5x5m. • Be available for 3 months from the end of the fabrication phase. • Be suitable for a third-party Contractor to carry out diamond wire cutting of the grout blocks at a mutually acceptable time towards the end of the 3 months. • Have lifting capability, this can be in the form of an overhead crane or forklift capable of lifting the mock up when full of grout, assume 3000 Kg. • Welfare facilities for up to 8 people Programme /Schedule: ITT Response Window Opening 26-Jun-23 ITT Response Window Closing 14-Jul-23 Contract Award 21-Jul-23 Fabrication (By Contractor) 21-Aug-23 Trialing (By Dounreay) 14-Sep-23 Completion of Trialing (By Dounreay) 14-Dec-23
