Huntingdon Road, Chatteris - Highway Reconstruction & Improvement Works to FDC Access Road -2023

Description

Fenland District Council invites bids from Consgtructionline Silver or above certified companies for the following works. the excavation and reconstruction of the existing carriageway, Approx. 260m2 area, to remove the existing inadequate construction, with its undulating RC slab panels and areas of deteriorating macadam surface. installation of new PC kerbing laid to new line and level along both sides of the carriageway, incorporating pedestrian and vehicular crossing points at relevant locations Approx, 90Lm installation of new PC channels installed along both side of the straight sections of carriageway, to help achieve suitable longitudinal falls Approx 55Lm installation of a new gully and connection on the eastern radius, to aid site drainage. the re-surfacing of the existing concrete and macadam footways, together with the tie-in to the recreation ground entrance. All duly re-profiled to suitable crossfalls. Approx.140m2 area. other minor associated works as required, such as installation of new PC edgings, replacement of IC cover and frame, adjustment of service covers and reinstated road markings. These highway improvement works will generally amount to reconstructing the carriageway using a terram geotextile, Type 1 stone sub-base, AC20 Road Base layers, AC20 Binder Course and AC10 Surface Course. Whilst the footways shall generally be resurfaced with a new AC20 Binder Course and AC6 Surface Course.
