Reserved Procurement - D1203 Ventilation System

Description

Dounreay has a requirement to upgrade the D1203 Ventilation Systems to ensure that they are safe, compliant, and reliable to support upcoming decommissioning activities. The revised ventilation system will also provide risk mitigation against a future release of radiological contamination from the existing ventilation header ducts in the D1203 roof void. The Employer requires the Contractor to procure, construct, manufacture, inspect, test, deliver, install, and set to work the required upgrades to the D1203 ventilation system as specified with the detail design package produced by the Employer. The Contractor shall also remove and apply containment features to potentially contaminated ductwork sections made redundant by these works and transport them to an agreed laydown area. Some items of key plant will be procured in advance by the Employer, and free-issued to the Contractor for installation and setting to work. Preparatory groundwork, building penetrations and installation of transition spools will also be carried out in advance by the Employer. This includes the provision of the Air Handling Unit (AHU) foundation, ductwork support stanchion foundations, duct and pipe penetrations and sleeves through the D1203 building external fabric and formation of the new plantroom link corridor opening in the west wall of the D1209 corridor following removal of cladding by the Contractor.
