Amberley Museum has recently received an award from the DCMS Museum Estate and Development Fund administered by Arts Council England to carry out essential works to the Bagging Shed, a Scheduled Monument that consists of; • the Museum Shop and Admissions area • an area known as the 'Railway Siding' - a timber-clad, tin-roofed entrance following the line of the original railway • the Kiln Floor, an area in front of the 19th century No.1 Kilns A 2022 Condition Survey of the Bagging Shed confirmed that roof and wall repairs, along with urgent stabilisation work are required in the next two years to protect the historic wooden structure and prevent collapse.
