UCLan are considering a procurement in respect of online resources that provide real world engagement with clients for specific student populations in the AHP Sector. This is to prepare students for interaction with health service users prior to their clinical placements, and to enhance their understanding of other roles in the sector. The requirement is potentially for a single online computer-based simulation COTS application that features video footage of real clients that covers four specific disciplines/professions (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy and audiology) in one application. The potential provision should be a cohesive platform for interprofessional collaborative learning, which clearly indicates which scenarios are applicable for each profession, and those which are applicable across multiple professions and which allows academic staff to choose cases appropriately both for their own students, but also for IPE opportunities, to facilitate interprofessional learning. Learners must be able to engage with the client and choose how they would interact with them, and there should be the facility for the learner to receive feedback on the choices they have made.
