National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network Co-ordinating Centre (CRNCC) - IT Services

Description

University of Leeds was awarded a contract by the Department of Health to host the NIHR CRNCC in 2015 which included a contract for IT Services via a third party. The Department of Health and Social Care recently re-let the NIHR CRNCC contract to University of Leeds. As it was not possible to allow for an extension of the IT Services contract as part of the original Department of Health contract nor was it possible to run a new tender for IT Services prior to the award of the second Department of Health and Social Care tender, we are extending the original contract with PA Consulting Services Ltd. The IT Services provided are heavily entwined into the service provided by NIHR CRNCC and will require careful consideration as to the best option for renewing these services. The extension period will provide the appropriate time to make these considerations, run a suitable procurement process and allow for a smooth transition to a new provider if relevant. It is expected that this process will take between 12 and 24 months with an estimated annual cost of £2M.
