Description

The University of Salford wish to procure the services of a Principal Contractor to undertake works at the Clifford Whitworth Library, University of Salford, Salford M5 4WT. Due to the poor condition of the Library's existing outward opening double entrance doors, the University of Salford is looking to have these defective doors replaced with two new sets of automatic sliding doors installed into the existing door openings; along with a refurbishment of the internal lobby area to include replacement floor matting, suspended ceiling, decorations, LED lighting and the necessary access control and services alterations. The preferred start date for the works based on a quieter time on campus In June 2025 works are estimated to take two weeks on-site. All suppliers are to include for weekend working over 2 weekends for replacement of the external doors, these weekends are 21st & 22nd June and 28th & 29th June. Works are estimated to take two weeks on-site. All suppliers are to include for weekend working over 2 weekends for replacement of the external doors, as detailed in the Schedule of Works and sub-contractors (Horton's) external door quote. The internal works to the entrance lobby can be carried out during normal working hours. It is anticipated that the existing library entrance will be closed off during the construction works, with student and staff access diverted to enter the building through the adjacent Café doors.
